VISIT TO BREEDERS OF NATIVE GOAT

Visit (Tortellà and Seret, August 12-16, 2016). We visited the farms of three native goat breeders from the Pyrenees area: a Pyrenees goat breeder, in the municipality of Tortellà (Girona), and two Catalan goat breeders, in the municipality of Seret (France). The characteristics of the breeds, their interest and management needs have been discussed. As a critical element of its management (in relation to the POLYFARMING project), the need for shelter in the event of rain or bad weather conditions has been highlighted. These meetings have led to the dismissal of goats as the main management animal in the POLYFARMING project.
