MARC GRÀCIA PRESENTS THE POLYFARMING PROJECT AT AN INTERNATIONAL MEETING ON ORGANIC LIVESTOCK
Marc Gràcia, Polyfarming coordinator and CREAF researcher, participated in the IFOAM International Animal Husbandry Alliance (IAHA) on September 21 with the entitled poster: ‘In Polyfarming livestock is an important tool for the project management’.
During the presentation, he explained how holistic livestock management improves productivity per hectare up to 4 times and reduces management costs. ‘In the Polyfarming project, livestock becomes an important tool for the management of other activities: understory cleaning, management of fruit trees with pastures, improvement of the fertility of the orchard, among others.’, states Marc Gràcia.
The IFOAM IAHA is an informal network of individuals and organizations interested in supporting and strengthening the development of organic animal husbandry, so it was also an opportunity to exchange knowledge and get to know other projects.
